STATION F

Station F is a business incubator for startups, located in 13th arrondissement of Paris. It is noted as the world’s largest startup facility.

Situated in a former rail freight depot previously known as la Halle Freyssinet, the 34,000 m2 (370,000 sq ft) facility was formally opened by President Emmanuel Macron in June 2017 and provides office accommodation for up to 1,000 start-up and early stage businesses as well as for corporate partners such as Facebook, Microsoft and Naver.

In the first five years of its existence, it supported more than 5,000 French startups with 92.4% still in operation. Hugging Face was its first unicorn company. It is estimated that during these first five years, its companies raised more than 8 billion euros and directly created 47,200 jobs.

STARTUPS

The French Tech Mission is responsible for supporting the structuring the french French start-up ecosystem’s growth both locally and internationally.

Launched in 2019 by Mission French Tech, the French Tech Next40/120 is a government-led program designed to support the 120 most promising French scale-ups with the potential to become global technology leaders.Each year, companies are selected according to transparent, objective criteria—half based on revenue performance and half on fundraising achievements. For a period of one year, they benefit from bespoke and collective support coordinated by Mission French Tech, with a particular focus on addressing their development challenges both in France and internationally.

Launched in partnership with the Secrétariat Général pour l’Investissement and Bpifrance, the French Tech 2030 program supports emerging players that respond to major societal challenges, in line with the strategic priorities of the France 2030 plan. The 125 selected companies benefit from financial and extra-financial support, coordinated by Mission French Tech.

Launched in 2019, French Tech Tremplin is the programme that promotes equal opportunities and supports entrepreneurs from backgrounds that are under-represented in the French tech ecosystem to develop their entrepreneurial project.
