CNES is the French national space agency. Headquartered in central Paris, the agency comes under the supervision of the ministries of the Armed Forces, Economy and Finance and Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
It operates from the Toulouse Space Centre and the Guiana Space Centre. The president of CNES is Philippe Baptiste. It is Europe’s largest national organization of its type.

Exotrail is a space service company from Palaiseau, Ile-de-France, France, founded in 2017. The company produces electric propulsion systems used in smallsats. Is also develops an hosting vehicle (orbital transfer vehicle/space tug) – SpaceVan, for smallsats. It has two U.S. subsidiaries. In February 2023 the company has raised $58 million to scale up production.
Sodern is a French company based in Limeil-Brévannes, near Paris in Ile-de-France, specialized in space instrumentation, optics and neutron analyzers.
Sodern develops and produces instruments for space exploration missions or scientific programmes; satellite equipment; neutron generators and neutron interrogation tools.
