PRESS RELEASE: La French Tech Taiwan sees its label as a community renewed by Mission French Tech
Taipei, February 2, 2023
La French Tech Taiwan has just received the status of Community by Mission French Tech for a period of 3 years (from 2023 to 2025). This labeling confirms the dynamism and involvement of a group of volunteers, established in their regional tech ecosystem. The role of La French Tech Taiwan will be to bring together the local tech community and implement key actions to ensure the promotion of Mission French Tech’s objectives in the area (advocacy of the French Tech ecosystem, gender equality and inclusion, ecological transition, etc.). La French Tech Taiwan is one of the 67 French Tech Communities abroad, receiving the label in the world.
The French Tech Communities abroad are groups of French or Francophile entrepreneurs, volunteers and locally established. As full members of the French Tech network, they participate in the influence of our ecosystem around the world.
Their mission is to support the Mission French Tech’s international actions by animating and taking part in the life of the local entrepreneurial community, by supporting the development of French start-ups in their ecosystems and by carrying out structuring actions in line with the Mission French Tech’s priorities.
Composed of founders, investors and employees of start-ups and tech companies, and any other stakeholder involved in the promotion of French Tech in their geographical area, the International Communities carry out their actions in conjunction with all the actors of the French network. Their objective is to encourage exchanges and meetings in their local ecosystem, by promoting bridges with the French ecosystem.
French Tech Communities are independent organizations, of multiple forms (informal groups, associations, etc.) labeled by the State (Mission French Tech is part of the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty). The label is granted after an evaluation process; there are 3 criterias to be a French Tech Community: a minimum of 10 letters of support from actors from the local ecosystem, a board composed of at least 70 % entrepreneurs and a third of women, an agenda aligned with the priorities of the Mission French Tech.
